This past week fifteen fourth graders started the first four week session of Makerspace at Grand View during their lunch. This is the first of four sessions which will be offered for fourth graders this year. Interest from the students has been outstanding. 75 of 150 fourth graders so far have submitted an application. Organizers have made an effort to choose participants from each class and an equal split of girls and boys. Once accepted, participants join our beloved science teacher, Ms. Renshaw, and parent volunteers in creatively solving a problem with no right answer during four sessions. Projects in Robotics, Electronics, Programming, Stop Motion Animation, 3D Design and 3D Printing are in the works. The Program encourages teamwork, creativity and problem solving and furthers participants understanding of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math).
