Thank you to all teachers, staff, parents, students, and our community for supporting these very important bond measures. Thank you to all who enthusiastically volunteered your time at phone banks and the neighborhood walks, and thank you to all for spreading the word around our community on why supporting these measures was the right thing to do. Manhattan Beach voters overwhelmingly approved both Measures C (70%) and EE (67%)!
What Now?
Now and for the next few months, the District takes its next steps to utilize C and EE to repair and improve our schools.
Working with a bond underwriter, the District will take initial steps to issue the first series of bonds to cover the design expenses for the bonds and renovation plans. Interviewing and eventually hiring architectural firms is an important first step. Those architects will utilize projects detailed in the Facilities Master Plan and begin to work with the community to determine each school site’s greatest needs based on available funds.
The Board will initiate steps to recruit and appoint citizen members to the Bond Oversight Committee. Any parents are welcome and invited to apply for a position on this committee. To find current and future updates on the bonds, please click the 2016 Bonds button at www.mbusd.org.
